Arrival in Trasimeno Lake area and accommodation in Hotel or Agriturismo. The rest of the day is at your leisure for relaxing or for discovering the surroundings.
First ride in Mountain Bike: The seven Mountains. Itinerary: Magione – Montecolognola – Montalcino – San Savino – Monte Buono – Monte Penna-Montesperello – Montemelino – Magione. This route begins at the junction from Magione to Monte Melino. From here you reach first the panoramic village of Montecolognola and later , down to Monte Del Lago, you will enjoy scenic views of the lake, olive groves and a wild nature. The terrain here is rather varied with a few more demanding stretches and the end part particularly stony and uneven. At the top of the climb proceed along the scenic ridge, heading north-east towards the wooded summit of Mont Penna.
Second ride in Mountain Bike: 3 Lakes . Itinerary: Castiglione del Lago - Ferretto – Petrignano – Binami – Lake Montepulciano – Porto (Lake Chiusi) – Vitellino – Castiglione del Lago. This routes starts from Castiglione del Lago from where you head to the nature conservation area featuring three shallow artificial lakes formed for providing a refueling stop and nesting haven for migrating herons on the shores of Trasimeno lake. Back to Hotel.
Complete day at your disposal for relax or sightseeing. We would suggest you to visit “Oasi La Valle”, a unique place in this area dedicated to migratory species. It’s a wetland of great ornithological interest with shallow waters and extensive reed beds, an important staging andnesting along the migratory routes from Northern Europe to sub-Saharian Africa. Third ride in Mountain Bike: Tour of the 7 Fords. Itinerary: Magione – La Goga – Caligiana – Colle Galletto – Colle Campana – Pian di Marte – Tregine – Colle Castelluccio – Monte del Bersaglio – Magione. Starting from the junction from Magione to Castel Rigone, the hardest part of this interesting and challenging track is the road from Caligiana as far as Colle Campana. Here the surface is rather stony but rideable except for several short stretches where you may have to walk. The rest is not too demanding and allows you to admire the surrounding landscape featuring Monte Tezio, Monte Malbe and Trinità. Back to Hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure for other sporting activities or relaxing and sightseeing
Fourth ride: Between Lake and Hills. Itinerary: Tuoro Punta Navaccia – Vernazzano Nuovo – Tuoro – Parco di Monte Castelluccio – Poggio Capanne – Monte Gualandro – Monte Melino – Puntabella – Punta Navaccia. Ultimate challenge around the lake! Starting and arrival point is the area of Punta Navaccia from where you take the cycle path to Passignano. From here it’s a shallow climb to Tuoro and to Monte Castelluccio. Here begins the most pleasant part of the road that will take you to Monte Gualandro, Monte Melino and back to Punta Navaccia.
